More Info

This washed coffee comes to us from the Finca Alto Refugio farm located in San Antonio Palopo, Guatemala.  Located at an impressive altitude of 1,890 meters above sea level, the Finca Alto Refugio farm produces high-quality coffees. The coffee-growing region of Atitlan is well known for its high altitude and volcanic soil.  These qualities give this coffee its distinctive flavor profile.  It is aromatic with a crisp and pronounced acidity and has sweet, fruity notes.  The body is medium-full, and the finish is long and lingering.

The Finca Alto Refugio farm cultivates a mixture of Bourbon, Typica, Red and Yellow Caturra, and Catuai varietals. The coffee is shaded predominantly by avocado and grevillea trees, providing an additional income stream for the farm.
